Do you get as frustrated as I do when you have to check the back of your computer? The other day, I had to have a tech come over to my office to get my laser printer running again. There are what seems to be 100s of cords and wires that get tangled no matter how hard you try to tame them.
Eva Wallace shared a great post about a contest for anyone with major cord clutter under their desks. Looks like fun AND a good cause!

Wow! What a Waste in Landfills
GreenPlug is encouraging readers and contest participants to lobby for more universal plugs. Here is what they say about it:
"That unsightly tangle of wires, black bricks and wall warts that supply your computer, printer, phone, desk lamp (and who knows what else) typifies a problem that plagues consumer society. Multiply what’s at your feet by millions – that’s how it is that a staggering 379 million discarded and obsolete external power supplies are destined to end up in U.S. landfills this year alone."
I had no idea that cords caused that much waste. I would love it if there was more standardization to all of those cords. I have to admit, we have a tub filled with various kinds of power cords and connections. Some are from electronics I'm sure we don't even own anymore...
